605 FLUS44 KLUB 202017 HWOLUB Hazardous Weather Outlook National Weather Service Lubbock TX 317 PM CDT Fri Sep 20 2024 TXZ021>044-212030- Parmer-Castro-Swisher-Briscoe-Hall-Childress-Bailey-Lamb-Hale-Floyd- Motley-Cottle-Cochran-Hockley-Lubbock-Crosby-Dickens-King-Yoakum- Terry-Lynn-Garza-Kent-Stonewall- 317 PM CDT Fri Sep 20 2024 This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the South Plains, Rolling Plains, and the far Southern Texas Panhandle. .DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight. An isolated thunderstorm or two may be possible this afternoon and evening across the far southwest Texas Panhandle. Strong wind gusts remain the main threat. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. Thunderstorm chances increase Saturday afternoon and evening near the Texas and New Mexico border. Locally heavy rain and flooding along with a threat for severe thunderstorms will be possible over the western South Plains and far southwest Texas Panhandle. Hail up to ping pong ball size, wind gusts up to 70 mph, and a tornado or two will all be possible through late Saturday evening. Heavy rain and minor flooding concerns will redevelop on Sunday afternoon and evening mainly east of the I27 corridor as a cold front interacts with very rich moisture. A few severe thunderstorms are also possible. Additional storms with heavy rain at times may develop on Tuesday. $$
