A band of low end MVFR to IFR CIGS over the area will last through
the day into the evening, then gradually improve as Helene moves
onshore later today into tonight. An area of rain is possible
over eastern portions of the forecast area, with bands of rain
bringing local drops to LIFR/IFR levels as the spread west later
today into tonight. A period of LLWS will be possible over inland
areas north of area TAF sites late this afternoon and evening.
Conditions will slow begin to ease Friday as Helene slowly weakens
over eastern portions of the Southeast. Strong northerly winds of
15 to 20 knots will shift to westerly later tonight into Friday
morning and east to around 10 to 15 knots.
