...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT ALAMANCE AND EASTERN GUILFORD
COUNTIES THROUGH 430 PM EDT...

At 331 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Elon, or over Interstate 40 near Burlington, moving east at 15 mph.
There was another storm east of Monticello, moving east-northeast
around 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Burlington, Graham, Mebane, McLeansville, Elon, Gibsonville, Haw
River, Swepsonville, Alamance, and Lake Guilford Mackintosh Marina.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Very heavy rain can be expected due to the slow movement of this
storm. Prolonged heavy rain will result in ponding of water on
roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and minor flooding of
creeks and streams. Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra
caution to avoid hydroplaning.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
