This EF-0 occurred near Maysville in Scott County and lift just northeast of Grand Mound in Clinton County. Additional surveys may be reported today. ..Grand Mound Tornado... Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 14.99 miles Path Width /maximum/: 50 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/24/2024 Start Time: 07:45 AM CDT Start Location: 2 SSE Dixon / Scott County / IA Start Lat/Lon: 41.7121 / -90.7662 End Date: 05/24/2024 End Time: 08:09 AM CDT End Location: 2 SSE Welton / Clinton County / IA End Lat/Lon: 41.8768 / -90.5802 Survey Summary: A tornado developed southeast of Dixon in Scott County and moved northeast into Clinton County. The intermittent tornado path was around 15 miles, to just east of Grand Mound, before lifting near Highway 61. The tornado caused minor tree and power pole damage, as well as damage to an outbuilding. The tornado was rated EF- 0 with max winds around 90 mph.
