Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS... A 29.4 inch low pressure currently over James Bay
will continue to weaken and slowly drift northeast into Quebec
tonight. In its wake, 29.9 inch ridging will build across Lake
Superior. This ridging shifts east late Friday night as a 29.4
inch low lifts northeast through the Northern Plains. Troughing of
29.6 inches moves over Lake Superior by Saturday morning, but is
short lived as 29.9 inch high pressure builds over the Great Lakes
Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. Meanwhile, another low
pressure begins to develop in the lee of the Rockies, pushing
northeast and reaching Lake Michigan at 29.4 inches by early
Monday morning. This low continues into Quebec Tuesday and 29.8
inch high pressure nudges in from the northern Plains.

knots in the afternoon. A chance of rain showers through early

14 feet.

midnight, then becoming west 15 to 25 knots late. A chance of
