If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... A passing cold front will cause winds to shift westerly and increase by mid morning, as well as bring scattered showers and cooler than normal temperatures. However, shower and thunderstorm coverage will increase in the afternoon on the leading edge of a disturbance, with strong erratic wind gusts and brief heavy downpours being the main threats. Overall, the probabilities for measurable rainfall today into this evening are 80% for greater than 0.25 inches, 50% for greater than 0.50 inches, and around 10% for greater than 1.00 inches. Snow levels will lower after the bulk of the precipitation has fallen, leaving a 50% chance of greater than 0.1 inches of snow and a 10% chance of greater than 1.00 inches of snow. Showers and thunderstorms will then decrease overnight as the disturbance moves through the area, but the winds will remain breezy. A few showers are possible on the back side of the disturbance on Thursday, as the westerly winds become gusty once again. Mostly dry and less windy conditions are forecast for Friday, as temperatures warm back above normal. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Mostly cloudy (80-90 percent).
