Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
308 PM PDT Thu May 23 2024

.DISCUSSION...High pressure is present across the area today,
providing partly cloudy skies as afternoon humidities dry 5-10%
from Wednesday. The next weather system arrives Friday along the
Cascades early before extending across the Blue Mountains and
foothills by the early afternoon. Winds will be increasing
through the day as the potential for thunderstorms materialize
over the Blue Mountains and east. The system stalls and
strengthens on Saturday as winds increase to near advisory
levels over the Simcoe Highlands, Kittitas Valley, and portions
of the Columbia Basin and northern Blue Mountain foothills.
