Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tulsa OK
1220 PM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024

...New AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(The rest of today)
Issued at 1026 AM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024

Morning fog across the area has dissipated, with continued
clearing skies expected through the rest of the morning hours. A
sunny, pleasant afternoon is in store with afternoon highs ranging
from the upper 70s to lower 80s. Current forecast remains on track
for this afternoon.

.LONG TERM...
(Tonight through Tuesday)
Issued at 345 AM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024

A cutoff upper low to our east will interact with the remnants of
soon to be Hurricane Helene over the coming days, with the latest
model data indicating this will occur a bit farther to the east
than previously expected. As a result, most rainfall will remain
east of our forecast area later Thursday night and Friday, with
any rain in our area being confined mainly to western Arkansas.
This system will shift slowly east over the weekend taking any
rain chances with it and leaving pleasant weather over our area. A
weak cold front looks to move through early next week with little
fanfare except to knock temperatures down slightly. Overall,
temperatures over the next week will remain within a few degrees
of the seasonal averages.

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1220 PM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024

VFR conditions are expected to prevail through the period for most
sites, with the possible exception of some fog tomorrow morning
across parts of northwest Arkansas. KFYV has the best chance of
seeing lowered flight conditions. Otherwise, mostly clear skies
and winds out of the north and northeast will generally be less
than 10 knots.
