At a glance:

Beautiful weather is expected this afternoon and tomorrow. RH behind
a cold front in FL will fall into the 40s this afternoon leaving the
area feeling cooler than the 85 degrees we`re expecting for a
high temp. We`ll see some gusty winds again today out of the NW at
10- 15mph with gusts up to 20mph.

Overnight lows will fall into the low 60s across southern GA with
mid to low 50s north of Columbus to Macon as a result of dry
weather. Tomorrows highs will be in the low 80s and upper 70s with
more clear and dry weather expected!

.LONG TERM...
(Friday morning through next Tuesday)

The extended period picks up on Friday morning with a high amplitude
upper level pattern over the eastern CONUS. Much of north and
central Georgia will be positioned under northwesterly flow aloft
between a longwave trough digging southward along the Atlantic coast
and a ridge extending from central Alabama northward into east-
central Canada. A strong surface high associated with this ridge
will meanwhile be positioned over the eastern Great Lakes. Low
temperatures will start the morning in the mid 50s across much of
north Georgia to low 60s in south-central Georgia. Decaying storm
systems traversing the area could bring some increased cloud cover
on Friday. While, isolated showers cannot be ruled out on Friday,
the influence of the high and dry mid-level air should largely
inhibit rain chances, leading to one more day of benign weather
conditions. High temperatures on Friday afternoon will run near
daily normals, rising mainly into the low 80s in north Georgia and
mid 80s in central Georgia.

By Saturday morning, the axis of the upper ridge will clear the
forecast area to the east. Meanwhile shortwave will advance
northeastward from the Great Plains into the Midwest, with an
associated surface low extending a cold front into the Lower
Mississippi River Valley region. Atmospheric moisture will begin to
increase on Saturday, from west to east. Dewpoints in the upper 40s
to low 50s Saturday morning will steadily rise into the upper 50s by
the end of the day. Isolated to scattered diurnally-driven showers
and thunderstorms will also be possible in the afternoon, primarily
across the western portion of the forecast area. The aforementioned
front will advance eastward towards the forecast area on Saturday
night into Sunday, leading to higher overall chances for
precipitation across the area. At this time, the threat for
organized severe weather appears to be low ahead of this front. In
the early part of next week, we will be settling in to a more
typical summer-like pattern as temperatures gradually warm. With
high temperatures in the mid 80s to low 90s and dewpoints in the mid
to upper 60s each afternoon, there will be ample instability to
support the development of scattered diurnal thunderstorms.

Wind gusts should start to die down after sunset and become light
overnight. Winds will generally stay to the NNW through the
morning hours under 5 kts, before the normal afternoon cu field
forms again tomorrow afternoon and winds pick up and become
solidly NW. Expecting the cu field at about 6000ft tomorrow like
the past two days.
