Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
239 PM EDT Wed May 22 2024

.DISCUSSION...Weak high pressure continues to shift across the
area tonight with winds strengthening out of the southwest into
Thursday morning. Moisture will steadily increase Thursday and
we settle into a fairly typical summer pattern with hot
afternoon temps into the 90`s and shower-storm chances each day
through the weekend. No consistent notable wind shifts are
expected, besides from thunderstorms, continuing out of the
southwest into next week. Rain chances are highest across the
northern half of SC through the weekend, compared to the CSRA.

Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog is possible in fog prone
locations.
