Through 1230 am, a broken line of showers and thunderstorms is moving northward across the distant Straits of Florida. This line extends roughly from south of the Marathon Humps to south of Wood`s Wall Crack and is moving north northeast at 15 knots. Mariners can expect wind gusts 25 to 30 knots, bouts of lightning, and reduced visibility within moderate to heavy downpours. $$ FLZ076-077-GMZ031-032-042-043-052-220445- Monroe Upper Keys-Monroe Middle Keys- Florida Bay including Barnes Sound, Blackwater Sound, and Buttonwood Sound- Bayside and Gulf side from Craig Key to west end of Seven Mile Bridge-Hawk Channel from Ocean Reef to Craig Key out to the reef- Hawk Channel from Craig Key to west end of Seven Mile Bridge out to the reef-Straits of Florida from Ocean Reef to Craig Key out 20 NM- Including the Communities of Key Largo and Marathon 1134 PM EDT Tue May 21 2024 .NOW... Through 1230 am, isolated showers and thunderstorms will wax and wane across the nearshore waters surrounding the Middle and Upper Keys. This activity will move erratically at near 10 knots and may on occasion pass over portions of the Upper Keys. Mariners encountering the stronger activity should expect brief blinding down pours, bouts of lightning, and wind gust to near 25 knots. $$
