139 WWAK81 PAFG 020142 SPSNSB Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 542 PM AKDT Sat Jun 1 2024 AKZ804-806-808-809-022000- Central Beaufort Sea Coast-Western Arctic Plains- Central Arctic Plains-Central Brooks Range- Including Nuiqsut, Prudhoe Bay, Alpine, Deadhorse, Kuparuk, the Dalton Highway north of MP 387, Umiat, Sagwon, Franklin Bluffs, the Dalton Highway from MP 322 to MP 387, Anaktuvuk Pass, Atigun Pass, Galbraith Lake, and the Dalton Highway from MP 232 to MP 322 542 PM AKDT Sat Jun 1 2024 ...Snow and Mixed Precipitation Tonight Through Monday AM... Snow will develop over the Central Brooks Range late tonight and continue at times tomorrow. Some rain/freezing rain will try to mix in, especially during the afternoon as temperatures rise into the low to mid 30s. During periods of heavier precipitation, expect a change to all snow with temperatures around 32 degrees. Tomorrow night, there will likely be heavy snow to start, then as it gets lighter, a changeover to freezing rain is probable from Anaktuvuk/Atigun Passes north to Umiat and Sagwon. Periods of snow, freezing rain, and freezing drizzle will continue through Monday morning then temperatures warm up above freezing in the afternoon transitioning all precipitation below 5000 feet to rain. Snow and a mix of freezing rain possible along the coast as well near Deadhorse. Expect snowfall totals below 5000 feet up to 4 inches. Above 5000 feet can expect up to 6 inches. A trace to a hundredth of an inch of ice is possible. $$
