(Today and tonight) Issued at 319 AM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024 Current radar imagery indicating a few showers and thunderstorms developing along the I-20 corridor this morning, mainly over Nolan County. This activity will remain disorganized and move south into the Concho Valley and Heartland the next few hours and mostly dissipate by mid morning. (Thursday through Tuesday) Issued at 319 AM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024 -Warm and dry through the long term From Thursday through this weekend, an upper level low will be positioned over the eastern CONUS, with an upper level ridge centered roughly over the southwestern U. S. By Tuesday, the upper low will finally move off to the east/northeast, with the upper level ridge pushing into west central Texas. This will keep our area under northerly flow aloft, as well as the surface through most of the long term. The main result of this will be a dry forecast with drier air being advected into the area. Although we will have northerly flow at the surface, our temperatures will be near or a few degrees above normal through the middle of next week.
