135 FNUS53 KLBF 270730 FWFLBF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western and North Central for Nebraska National Weather Service North Platte NE 230 AM CDT Fri Sep 27 2024 .DISCUSSION... Above average temperatures are expected to persist today and into the weekend, leading to continued fire weather concerns nearly each day. The greatest fire concerns are expected Sunday into Monday, when an overlap of temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s, relative humidity values in the teens, and gusty winds. Winds strengthen from the south Sunday, with gusts of 25 to 30 miles per hour across the western Sandhills and northern Nebraska. A front then pushes through the area Monday morning, with strong northwest winds gusting 30 to 35 miles per hour in its wake. This will lead to a threat for critical fire weather conditions both Sunday and Monday. Cooler temperatures briefly return Tuesday and this somewhat lessens fire concerns. A quick return to above average temperatures is then expected for Wednesday, with a threat for critical fire concerns yet again.
