(Today and tonight) Issued at 213 AM CDT Fri Sep 27 2024 Quiet, warm, and dry weather through the next 24 hours. We will be under the influence of dry northerly flow aloft, as well as dry air in the lower levels. With plenty of sunshine and dry air, afternoon highs will be able to get into the mid 80s to around 90. Light and variable winds will become northerly between 5 and 10 mph during the afternoon. Lows tonight will be a few degrees warmer, in the mid 50s to around 60 degrees. && .LONG TERM... Slightly above-normal temperatures and dry conditions are forecast for the long-term. We will be located between an upper level high to our west and an upper level low to our east for the rest of this week. Winds will generally remain from the north during this time period. As we go into next week, the high will shift towards our area, and surface winds will shift back to the south.
