URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service La Crosse WI
220 AM CST Sat Nov 29 2025

...WINTER STORM TODAY THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...

.Snow has begun to move east of the Mississippi River this morning
as a winter storm continues eastward through the Midwest. A
prolonged period of moderate to heavy snowfall is expected across
the region through Sunday morning with areas along and south of
Interstate 90 expected to receive at least 6 inches of snow. The
highest snowfall amounts are favored over northeast Iowa and
southwest Wisconsin where 8+ inches of snow is expected. The
heaviest snowfall rates will occur this afternoon over northeast
Iowa and southwest Wisconsin where rates approaching 1 inch per hour
are possible at times. Tonight, winds begin to increase with gusts
of 25 to 35 mph. These winds combined with the falling snow and
blowing of the fresh snowpack will lead to near blizzard conditions
at times through Sunday morning. Travel could be very difficult
today and tonight, so those with travel plans are strongly urged to
delay them. Snow tapers off from west to east on Sunday.
