Synopsis for Altamaha Sound GA to Flagler Beach FL out to 60 nm-
900 PM EDT Tue Apr 9 2024

.SYNOPSIS...

High pressure centered off the southeastern seaboard will maintain
breezy southeasterly winds tonight that will shift to southerly
by Wednesday afternoon. Meanwhile, low pressure will organize over
eastern Texas tonight, with this feature then strengthening as it
accelerates northeastward across the lower Mississippi Valley on
Wednesday, the Tennessee Valley on Wednesday night, and the Ohio
Valley and Great Lakes region by Thursday afternoon. Southerly
winds will strengthen across our local waters on Wednesday
afternoon and evening night ahead of this storm system`s
approaching strong cold front, with Small Craft Advisory
conditions developing throughout our local waters. Winds offshore
may occasionally gust to Gale Force, and strong to severe
thunderstorms are then expected to sweep across our local waters
on Thursday afternoon, moving east of our offshore waters on
Wednesday evening. Winds will shift to westerly by Thursday night
following the passage of the cold front, with seas remaining at
Small Craft Advisory levels through around sunrise on Friday.
Winds and seas will gradually diminish on Friday night and
Saturday as high pressure builds eastward along the northern Gulf
coast. High pressure will then become centered directly over our
local waters on Sunday morning and will push offshore during the
afternoon hours.
