Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
448 PM EDT Wed Apr 17 2024

...Low Humidity for Portions of the Morehead, Pineville, and Hazard
Branches on Thursday...

.DISCUSSION...Well above normal temperatures continue across the
area through Thursday. An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible
this evening as a weak cold front sags south across the area, but
most locations will remain dry through early Thursday evening and
humidity should bottom out near or below 30 percent in many locations
on Thursday afternoon. However, a more potent low pressure system
will track into the OH Valley Thursday evening and Thursday night,
sending a cold front across eastern KY and bringing much higher
chance for showers and thunderstorms. The front will move east of
eastern KY on Friday with rain chances ending from west to east by
evening. Dry weather is expected on Saturday along with cooler
temperatures. The cooler temperatures will continue to begin next week
with mainly precipitation free weather.
