...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN RAPIDES AND
SOUTHEASTERN VERNON PARISHES THROUGH 600 PM CDT...

At 526 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Pitkin, moving northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Pitkin, Hineston, Gardner, Otis, Elmer, Calcasieu, and Union Hill.

This includes Interstate 49 near mile marker 77.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for central and
west central Louisiana.
