...Discussion from Monterey...

Mostly quiet conditions through this week. Cool temperatures
continue early week with a warming and drying trend on track for
Wednesday through the end of the week. Overall good overnight
recoveries despite the warming, though inland areas and locations
above about 2000 feet will see decent but more limited recovery
Wednesday and Thursday nights with humidities in the 30s to lower
40s. Cooling trend and next potential chance for light rain by the
weekend.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard...

...GUSTY NORTHWEST TO NORTH WINDS WITH DRYING TREND THROUGH TUESDAY
NIGHT, STRONGEST IN THE MOUNTAINS, DESERTS, AND SOUTHERN SANTA
BARBARA COUNTY...

...GUSTY NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS WITH WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS
WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY...

Gusty northwest to north winds will continue across portions of
Southwest California through Tuesday night, strongest in the
mountains, Antelope Valley and adjacent foothills, as well as
southern Santa Barbara county. These areas can expect peak wind
gusts between 35 and 50 mph, with isolated gusts as high as 55 mph
across the Interstate 5 corridor. Continued warm and dry conditions
across the interior with humidities lowering to between 8 and
25 percent on Tuesday across the interior and foothills. The lower
humidities are also expected to become more widespread across the
Santa Ynez range and adjacent foothills of southern Santa Barbara
county on Tuesday and Tuesday night. By Wednesday, the flow is
expected to shift to the northeast with gusty northeast winds mainly
focused across the mountains, Antelope Valley, and spreading locally
into the valleys of Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Then by
Wednesday night and Thursday, the gusty northeast winds are expected
to be focused across typical Santa Ana wind prone areas of LA and
Ventura counties. The influx of northeast winds Wednesday into
Thursday is expected to bring further drying to the region, with
humidities potentially falling to between 5 and 15 percent in the
wind prone areas.

gusting between 30 and 50 mph will continue today, shifting to the
north tonight. While winds were mostly focused over the interior
this morning, they are expected to become stronger and more
widespread across much of the region this afternoon (including
coastal areas) into tonight. Areas of strongest and potentially
damaging winds are expected this afternoon into tonight across the
I-5 corridor, Antelope Valley, and adjacent western foothills where
gusts of 50 to 65 mph are likely. Northerly winds are expected to
continue across the interior Saturday through Sunday night, but are
expected to be weaker with gusts mostly in the 30 to 50 mph range,
strongest in the I-5 corridor.

Fairly moist conditions are expected today across much of the
region, except the Los Angeles Valleys which could see some
humidities locally lowering to around 20 percent by late afternoon.
Drier conditions are expected to become more widespread over the
weekend.
