Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
326 AM EDT Sun May 12 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Breezy and very dry conditions expected today across eastern NC
in warm west-northwesterly downsloping flow. Min RHs fall to between
25-30% across the coastal plain with a few gusts to 20-25 kt possible
in the afternoon. Recent saturation of soils preclude a more pronounced
fire weather threat today, as well as only marginally sufficient wind
gusts.

A low pressure system will bring unsettled weather across the area
Tuesday into Wednesday. High pressure builds in on Thursday
before another low pressure system impacts us late in the week.
