NEAR TERM...
(Now through Monday)
Issued at 335 PM CDT Sun Apr 14 2024
A dry northwesterly flow pattern aloft will prevail across the
region through Monday, keeping our area rain-free and under mostly
clear skies. Only area of concern will be the potential for patchy
to areas of fog overnight tonight. Guidance seems to be relatively
confident in the potential across areas north of I-10. The only
question is the current high clouds. If they are able to move out
of the area and skies clear then fog seems likely across most
interior areas and a Dense Fog Advisory will likely be needed
tonight. Expect high temperatures in the low to mid 80s inland to
upper 70s along the coast. Lows ranging in the upper 50s to low
60s gradually increasing throughout the period. A LOW risk of rip
currents will continue through the period. BB/03
SHORT and LONG TERM...
(Monday night through Sunday)
Issued at 426 AM CDT Sun Apr 14 2024
Generally quiet weather continues during the short and long term
from Monday night through Sunday. Upper ridging dominates the
forecast through Tuesday night before we shift to more westerly
flow aloft as a trough ejects north of the region Wednesday.
Several shortwaves embedded within strong subtropical flow will
move through the area Thursday through Sunday potentially bringing
some scattered pops throughout the end of the week and weekend.
The exact timing and progression of these waves will likely
determine when and where we see small chances for rain. Otherwise,
warmer conditions will prevail with highs climbing into the mid to
upper 80s most of the week. Overnight lows gradually follow suit,
going from middle and upper 50`s Monday night to lower to middle
60`s for Tuesday through Friday nights. A Moderate risk for rip
currents will return Tuesday, lasting through the rest of the
week. MM/25
MARINE...
Issued at 335 PM CDT Sun Apr 14 2024
A light to occasionally moderate onshore flow will prevail
through Friday before winds become light offshore this weekend.
