At 242 AM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain mostly east of
highway 69 in Oklahoma and in northwest Arkansas. Thunderstorms with
locally heavy rain were located in Sequoyah, Cherokee and Adair
counties in Oklahoma. The precipitation was in the Tulsa and Fort
Smith areas. Movement was to the east at around 20 mph. The average
amount where it rained last hour was around one quarter of an inch
with maximum amounts of two to two and a half inches. Coverage and
intensity remained about the same as last hour. The Tulsa area
forecast for late tonight and into this morning, mostly cloudy, a
chance of showers and thunderstorms with temperatures 62 to 66
degrees and northeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
