...THE FLOOD ADVISORY FOR MINOR FLOODING IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS
REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 115 PM EDT FOR LAUREL...SOUTHWESTERN BELL...
SOUTHWESTERN KNOX...EASTERN PULASKI...MCCREARY...ROCKCASTLE AND
WHITLEY COUNTIES...

At 1112 AM EDT, Doppler radar showed that rain was gradually
diminishing and moving out of the area. However, morning rainfall
totals have averaged around a half inch for much of the area. Thus
excessive runoff is expected to continue to contribute to minor
flooding over the next couple of hours after considering that 1-2
inches of rain has fallen over the past 24 hours, especially around
poor drainage areas.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Somerset, London, Williamsburg, Mount Vernon, Whitley City, Boone,
Julip, Donaro, Bummer, Robinet, Fariston, Gum Sulphur, Cumberland
Falls S.P., Zion Hill, Bandy, Horse Lick, Spiro, Mount Victory,
Climax and Gausdale.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
