Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Northern Vermont and
Northern New York
National Weather Service Burlington VT
434 AM EDT Fri May 25 2018

...Moderately low humidities with gusty winds today...

.DISCUSSION...
Summerlike weather arrives today as high pressure brings warm
temperatures to the area. Gusty winds from 20 to 30 mph are
expected as afternoon minimum relative humidities lower into
the 30 to 36 percent range (locally higher in the St. Lawrence
Valley). With widespread wetting rain has occurred in the past
3 days no large scale fire weather concerns exist. However, open
burning should be done with caution given the winds. A cold front
will approach from the north tonight, and linger across the region
over the weekend. As a result, expect an increase in cloud cover and
humidity levels along with cooler temperatures and chance of showers and
thunderstorms through the period. A few of the storms could produce
locally heavy downpours.
