.DISCUSSION...
Rain and thunderstorms will continue to spread eastward across
the region early this morning, within a warm and increasingly
humid airmass across the TN Valley. Additional but more scattered
thunderstorm activity is expected to develop by early this
afternoon and continue through the evening hours, before
transitioning back to light rain during the early morning hours
Saturday. Little change in the general weather pattern is
anticipated on Saturday, with scattered-numerous showers and
thunderstorms expected (mainly during the afternoon hours). Smoke
dispersion indices will be in the fair range both today and
tomorrow, with mixing heights of 3500-4500 ft and transport winds
of 10-15 MPH. In the extended period, it appears as if airmass of
even greater warmth and humidity will spread northeastward on
Sunday night and persist for much of next week. Although the
coverage of showers and thunderstorms may be a bit lower on
Monday-Wednesday (compared to this weekend), chances for storms
will increase once again on Thursday/Friday.
Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy fog will be possible
during the early morning hours each day from today-Sunday.
Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
