...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southeastern
Clinton, northeastern Essex, west central Lamoille, Addison, southern
Grand Isle, Chittenden, north central Rutland, west central
Washington and southwestern Franklin Counties through 500 PM EDT...

At 357 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Shoreham, moving north at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Essex Junction, Burlington International Airport, Plattsburgh,
Middlebury, Plattsburgh International Airport, South Burlington,
Burlington, Vergennes, Peru, Beekmantown, Schuyler Falls, Moriah,
Saranac, Willsboro, Westport, Elizabethtown, Salisbury, Westford,
Colchester, and Essex Junction Village.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 87 between mile markers 105 and 159.
 Interstate 89 between mile markers 71 and 108.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

If on or near Lake Champlain, get out of the water and move indoors
or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
