...ELEVATED FIRE THREAT WEST OF US 281 THIS AFTERNOON...

BREEZY SOUTH WINDS OF 15-25 MPH ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON WEST
OF US 281. HUMIDITY VALUES WILL FALL TO AROUND 20% IN THESE AREAS
AS TEMPERATURES WARM INTO THE 90S. THESE CONDITIONS WILL BE
FAVORABLE FOR IGNITION AND SPREAD OF GRASSFIRES DESPITE HIGHER
FUEL MOISTURE CONTENT.

EXTREME CARE IS URGED DURING ALL OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES WHERE THERE
IS A POTENTIAL FOR GRASS FIRES TO GET STARTED. AVOID OUTSIDE
BURNING AND WELDING. DO NOT TOSS LIT CIGARETTE BUTTS OUTSIDE.
REPORT WILD FIRES TO THE NEAREST FIRE DEPARTMENT OR LAW
ENFORCEMENT OFFICE QUICKLY.
