...River Statement For The Alabama River...
.River levels remain elevated along the Alabama River at Montgomery
and at Selma. However, levels are gradually falling, and any
overflow along the river should be of minor nature.
The Alabama River at Montgomery.
* At 7:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 28.2 feet.
* Action stage is 26 feet.
* Flood stage is 35 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 24 feet Monday evening.
* Impact...At 26 feet...Some flooding of low lying areas and
secondary roads begins in the Montgomery area. Flooding of the
golf course at Maxwell Air Force Base and portions of River Road
occurs at stages around 30 feet and higher.
The Alabama River at Selma.
* At 7:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 33.8 feet.
* Action stage is 30 feet.
* Flood stage is 45 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 25 feet Monday evening.
* Impact...At 30 feet...Pasture lands below Selma become flooded.
Another statement will be issued by Thursday morning, or sooner if
conditions warrant.
