Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
418 AM MDT Sat May 18 2024

.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...

A cold front will move through Colorado this morning resulting in
a cooler day today. This will keep relative humidity a bit higher
as most areas will see relative humidity stay about 20 percent.
Fire weather conditions will be on the lower side today as a
result of the high relative humidity. Most of the area will have
good to excellent smoke dispersal.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday through Wednesday...Warmer and
drier conditions are forecast on Sunday, with increasing winds
leading to elevated fire weather conditions across the area. Some
locally critical fire weather conditions are possible across far
southern portions of Lincoln county. A few showers and storms will
be possible, mainly across the northern mountains. An approaching
storm system should lead to better moisture across most of the
forecast area on Monday, but low RH is still forecast across
Middle/South Park. Cooler and wetter weather is expected by Monday
night, continuing into Tuesday with good chances for wetting rain
for portions of the forecast area. A warming and drying trend is
expected from Wednesday into the latter half of the week. Very
good to excellent smoke dispersal is forecast on Sunday, and
should remain good to excellent across most of the region Monday.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
