208 FNUS53 KLBF 120701 FWFLBF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western and North Central for Nebraska National Weather Service North Platte NE 201 AM CDT Sun May 12 2024 .DISCUSSION... The fire weather threat remains generally low through midweek as a couple systems cross the Great Plains, bringing increased precipitation potential. Scattered rain showers will develop across the forecast area by this afternoon with the greatest coverage generally south of Highway 2. A few heavier showers may push moisture totals to 0.25" or more in spots. A cool front on Tuesday will likely result in a round of thunderstorms during the evening hours. Toward late week, temperatures rebound to above normal levels while humidity values fall to within 10-15% of critical thresholds. At this time, wind gusts appear to be limited to 25 mph.
