.Discussion...
High pressure remains over the western Atlantic. Fire sensitive
conditions continue this afternoon with near red flag conditions
Friday. South to southwest winds inland and southeast along the
coast at 10-15mph with gusts up to 25-30mph are forecast into
this evening, before increasing from the west-southwest at
15-20mph with gust up to 30mph. Additionally, a high significant
fire potential is outlooked over east central Florida today and
tomorrow. Afternoon highs are forecast to reach the low to upper
90s Friday with heat index values in the upper 90s to low 100s
under mostly sunny to partly sunny skies. Dispersion values will
be Excellent Friday and Very Good to Excellent Saturday. Isolated
showers and lighting storms are forecast to develop ahead of a
cold front late Friday afternoon and into early Saturday which
will be capable of gusty winds and cloud to ground lighting
strikes over Lake, Volusia, Seminole, Brevard, Orange, and
northern Osceola counties (PoPs ~20-40%). Rain and storm chances
shift to the south with the front across the Treasure Coast and
Okeechobee counties Saturday afternoon (PoPs ~20-30%).
Fog potential and other remarks... Widespread fog is not forecast.
Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing
fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
