...A FLOOD WARNING FOR SNOWMELT REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 AM MDT
MONDAY FOR SOUTH CENTRAL BROADWATER...NORTHERN MADISON...SOUTHEASTERN
JEFFERSON AND NORTHWESTERN GALLATIN COUNTIES...

* Increasing snowmelt rates combined with multiple rounds of showers
  and thunderstorms is expected to lead to continued rises along the
  Jefferson River through the Memorial Day weekend.

Point forecast for the Jefferson River near Three Forks.

* As of 9 AM Thursday, the stage was 8.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Continue rising to near 8.9 feet by Tuesday morning.
* Impacts...At 8.5 feet, county roads and bridges and some homes
  around Three Forks may be impacted by flood waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Those planning to recreate on or near the Jefferson River over
Memorial Day weekend are encouraged to be mindful of fast flows and
higher water levels.

Those not experiencing flooding now, may begin to see flooding by
this weekend or early next week.
