The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...

  Currituck Sound...
  Coastal Waters from the NC/VA Border to Currituck Beach Light NC
out 20 NM...

* Until 545 PM EDT

* At 444 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 12 nm west of Currituck Sound to 6 nm east of
  Currituck Beach, moving southeast at 30 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and small hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Currituck Beach Light, Knotts Island Bay, Currituck Beach,
  Currituck Sound and Kill Devil Hills.
