.DISCUSSION...
A cold front is beginning to shift south across the region.
Scattered to numerous showers will run parallel to the boundary
until it crosses midafternoon. Temperatures will be warmest early
with mid 40s to lower 50s cooling into the mid 30s to lower 40s.
Clouds and rain will diminish by evening with briefly gusty winds
behind the front subsiding overnight. Rain and cool weather will
preclude fire weather concerns today. Liquid amounts for the
forecast have trended down, and the latest suggests areal average
amounts of about 0.15" to 0.33" with localized amounts up to
0.50" possible near the Adirondacks and far northern Vermont.
For Thursday, although weather conditions will be cool for this
time of year, the airmass will be very dry. Minimum relative
humidity will be 20 to 30 percent with northwest winds at 5 to 10
mph and a few gusts up to 15 mph. Recent rain should only allow
for limited impacts on fire weather conditions.
