...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1988, a three day snow event with heavy and wet snow began.
Storm totals topped 10 inches in many locations, including 14
inches at Goodland and 18 inches near Saint Francis Kansas. North
winds gusting to 40 mph combined with the heavy snowfall to bring
down numerous trees across the region.
