Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
853 PM MDT Tue Apr 16 2024

...A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for portions of the area from
noon to 9 PM MDT Wednesday...

...A Fire Weather Watch remains in effect for portions of the area
Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening...

.DISCUSSION...

Critical fire weather conditions will remain possible across parts
of the district tomorrow afternoon. Areas that will be affected will
be the I-25 corridor region from Colorado Springs to the New Mexico
border, Fremont county, and the San Luis Valley. Strong winds and low
humidity values will be the main concerns.

Looking farther into the forecast, critical fire weather conditions
are possible over the San Luis valley Thursday and Friday.
Starting later in the week and lasting into the weekend, cooler
weather is expected along with the chance of mountain snows and rain
showers on the plains.

Smoke dispersion is expected to be very good on Wednesday. Smoke
dispersion is expected to be very good across the mountains and
mountain valleys on Thursday, and poor to good across the plains.
