.SYNOPSIS...
Warmer today and much warmer for Tuesday and Wednesday as high
pressure aloft moves across southern California. Cooler for
Thursday and Friday as a weak low pressure system moves inland
through southern California, then a little warmer for next
weekend.

.DISCUSSION...FOR EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA INCLUDING ORANGE...
SAN DIEGO...WESTERN RIVERSIDE AND SOUTHWESTERN SAN BERNARDINO
COUNTIES...

.SHORT TERM (Today through Wednesday)...
The low pressure system for this past weekend will move quickly
eastward today with high pressure aloft strengthening over
southern California into Wednesday. This will bring signficant
warming of high temperatures into Wednesday with the greatest
warming today of 10 to 15 degrees for the mountains, of 8 to 12
degrees on Tuesday for the inland valleys and lower coastal slopes
of the mountains, and around 5 degrees for the deserts on
Wednesday. With the warming, high temperatures on Wednesday will
be a few degrees above average near the coast to 5 to 10 degrees
above average for the mountains and deserts.

.LONG TERM (Thursday through Sunday)...
A weak low pressure system moving inland through southern
California some time around Thursday will bring cooling for
Thursday and Friday with Friday high temperatures a few to around
5 degrees below average for the coast and valleys with the deserts
a few to around 5 degrees above average. The marine layer will
deepen with night and morning coastal low clouds and fog spreading
into portions of the valleys. There will also be high clouds at
times on Thursday. A little warmer for next weekend. The greatest
spread in the high temperature guidance is on Sunday with the
greater spread for the coast and valleys.

.AVIATION...
150930Z...Coast/Valleys...SCT-BKN cloud layers with bases 2500-4500
feet MSL this morning, with widespread VFR conditions after 17Z.
Scatter out gradually occurring all areas by 20Z. Patchy low clouds
based around 1500 feet MSL mainly near KSAN after 08Z Tuesday.

Mountains/Deserts...Local mountain terrain obscurations on coastal
slopes will continue through 17Z with scatter out thereafter. Gusty
W-SW winds 25-35 kt over/east of mtns, with areas of up/downdrafts
and LLWS over/east of mtns through 17Z.

No hazardous marine conditions are expected through Friday.

encouraged to report significant weather conditions.
