.DISCUSSION...A southwest flow will remain in place today,
maintaining relatively warm and dry conditions. Winds are expected
to increase this afternoon, and will be gusty at times. These
winds will help produce excellent mixing conditions today. A storm
system will cross the area tomorrow, bringing showers and cooler
temperatures. The showers should develop by noon and should fall
mostly as a wet snow, although rain could mix in at times. Active
weather continues Friday into Saturday, with continued cooling
and lowering of snow levels. Latest forecast calls for 0.9-1.25
inches of water equivalent Thursday through Saturday, and 4-9
inches of snow, mainly above 8500 feet. Between 7500-8000 feet,
generally 1-4 inches of snow can be expected. Drier conditions
begin to spread back into the area for Sunday, accompanied by a
warming trend. At this time, this pattern looks to persist through
at least the middle of next week, along with good to excellent
mixing conditions.
