A storm system over Iowa today was associated with lingering light
rain and snow over central North Dakota, much of central and eastern
South Dakota, and southern Minnesota, as well as some showers and
thunderstorms in northern Iowa. The heaviest snowfall with this
system was in eastern South Dakota and southern Minnesota where 3 to
5 inches total snowfall was expected.

Light rain and snow will continue to taper off today in the Dakotas,
with most precipitation in North Dakota ending by noon CDT.

Across the Northern Plains, highs today will range from the upper
30s in eastern South Dakota, to the 40s and 50s elsewhere across the
region.

Looking ahead, warmer conditions are forecast with highs in the 40s
and 50s Thursday and Friday, and in the 50s and 60s Saturday and
Sunday.
