.PREV DISCUSSION...
SHORT TERM...Tonight through Sunday night...A ridge of high
pressure will build into the region through the day, bringing
clear conditions, warm daytime highs, and low overnight
temperatures. Then, a weak shortwave trough will move to our
north, bringing a very slight chance of precipitation (10%
chance) to the West Central Mountains on Sunday. Temperatures
will be slightly cooler on Sunday, as upper level zonal flow
takes over. There will be some weak cumulus development over
terrain each afternoon, but otherwise, clear conditions will
prevail over most of the region.

LONG TERM...Monday through Friday...Upper level zonal flow will
bring cool temperatures on Monday as a deeper ridge builds into
the western area of the CWA by Tuesday. Above normal
temperatures and dry conditions will continue through Tuesday
afternoon. Then, an upper level low will dig down the coast of
British Columbia, shifting southwest moist flow into the
region. This will bring the first chance of thunderstorms and
showers into the Magic Valley and near the ID-NV border. As the
low gets closer to the region on Wednesday, another push of
moisture with cooler air will bring another threat for
widespread afternoon showers and thunderstorms. A slight chance
of showers and thunderstorms will continue on Wednesday
afternoon and evening. This low looks to finally move through
the region on Thursday, although there is some model
disagreement on the progression of the low. Therefore,
precipitation and cooler temperatures will continue through
Friday.
