...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of northeastern
Fairfield, southern Lancaster, Chesterfield and Kershaw Counties
through 730 PM EDT...

At 625 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Pageland to near Great Falls. Movement was
southeast at 35 mph.

...Boaters on Lake Wateree Should Seek Safe Harbor...

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Camden, Cheraw, Lake Wateree Dam, Pageland, Kershaw, Chesterfield,
Elgin, Heath Springs, Liberty Hill, Lake Wateree State Park,
Westville, Cheraw State Park, Northeastern Technical College,
Cassatt, Cheraw Municipal Airport, Carolina Sandhills Wildlife
Refuge, Mt Pisgah, Longtown, Goodale State Park, and Lugoff.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 95 and 105.
 Interstate 77 between mile markers 44 and 51.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

If on or near Lake Wateree, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
these storms pass.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
central South Carolina.
