...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN MCPHERSON AND
WESTERN HARVEY COUNTIES THROUGH 500 PM CDT...

At 427 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Burrton, moving northeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Newton, Hesston, Halstead, North Newton, Moundridge, and Burrton.

This includes Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 34 and 50.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for south central
Kansas.
