Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...Windy and wet pattern will continue across the park
early this week, with additional snow expected from Paradise and
higher. A shift in the pattern will bring dry and much warmer
conditions to Mount Rainier National Park for the second half of
the week.

.IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult mountaineering
conditions through Monday near the summit, with local blizzard-
like conditions, strong winds, and near zero visibility. A high
level of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of
GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in these
conditions.

.SUNDAY...Windy. Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow in
the morning, then rain and snow in the afternoon. Little or no
snow accumulation near Paradise. Snow level near 5500 feet.
.SUNDAY NIGHT...Windy. Rain and snow in the evening, then rain
and snow likely after midnight. Snow may be heavy at times after
midnight. Snow accumulation near Paradise of 2 to 5 inches. Snow
level near 4500 feet.
.MONDAY...Very windy. Showers in the morning, then showers, snow
showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Snow may be heavy at times. Snow accumulation near Paradise of
2 to 5 inches. Snow level near 3500 feet.
.MONDAY NIGHT...Windy. Showers, snow showers and a slight chance
of thunderstorms in the evening, then showers likely after
midnight. Moderate snow accumulations. Snow level near 3000 feet.
.TUESDAY...Breezy. Rain and snow likely. Light snow
accumulations. Snow level near 3000 feet.
