The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton has issued an

* Airport Weather Warning for Ground Operations at:
  The following Rhode Island State Airports:

  North Central Airport in Smithfield
  Westerly State Airport in Westerly
  Quonset State Airport in Quonset
  T.F. Green State Airport in Warwick
  Newport State Airport in Newport
  Providence Heliport in Downtown Providence

* Until 300 PM EDT.

* The Following Weather Hazards Are Expected:
  Cloud to ground lightning within 10 miles of the airport.

* At 134 PM EDT, National Weather Service Doppler Radar was tracking
  scattered strong thunderstorms across much of Rhode Island. The
  greatest concentration was in western sections, near the
  Connecticut border. Individual storms were racing to the north at
  70 to 80 mph.
