...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...

  Chesapeake Bay from Windmill Point to Little Creek VA...
  York River...

At 1239 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 8 nm southwest of White Stone
Bridge to 7 nm northwest of Coleman Bridge, moving east at 25 knots.

Locations impacted include...
New Point Comfort, Nassawadox Reef, Wolf Trap, Rappahannock Range
Light, Rappahannock Light, Plantation Light, Mobjack Bay, Gwynns
Island, Gwynns Island Reef, Coleman Bridge, Tue Marshes Light, Hole
In The Wall, York Spit Reef, Buoy 36a, The Hump, The Cell,
Cherrystone Reef, Cabbage Patch and Cape Charles Harbor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots...locally higher
waves...lightning strikes...and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
