.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Thursday...Only isolated showers are
expected this evening, mainly near the northern border. A low
pressure system will develop in northeastern Colorado on Thursday.
This will produce increasing moisture over northern and eastern
border areas, but the plains southeast of Denver will be warm,
dry, and breezy with near critical fire weather conditions in the
afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms will develop over other areas
in the mid to late afternoon hours, and it will become windy in
most places.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Thursday night through Monday...
As the next system enters northeastern Colorado, scattered to
numerous storms and showers will occur Friday through Sunday night.
Cooler temperatures and wetting rains should lower any fire weather
concerns through Monday. A drier period could occur starting Monday
afternoon through mid next week but humidities should remain above
Red Flag criteria.
