Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
525 AM EDT Wed Apr 17 2024

Periods of rain and a couple of thunderstorms are expected across
Pennsylvania today into tonight. A few thunderstorms may reach
severe limits and produce locally heavy rainfall across the far
western portion of the Keystone State later this afternoon into
the evening. High temperatures will range from 60 degrees in the
Poconos to 75 degrees in the Greater Pittsburgh area.

Early day clouds, light rain, and drizzle over the central and
eastern parts of the Commonwealth will give way to a mostly cloudy
and warmer day on Thursday with a low chance of a rain shower in
spots during the afternoon. Highs on Thursday will range from the
low 70s in the southwestern part of the state to the upper 40s in
the extreme northeast corner of Pennsylvania.

Another round of rain will arrive on Friday followed by a cool
down and drying trend over the weekend. Chilly nights are forecast
on Saturday and Sunday with minimum temperatures cold enough to
pose a frost and freeze risk.
