.SHORT TERM...
Issued 1015 AM CDT Fri Apr 19 2024

Today through Saturday:

Skies have cleared early this morning as dry air filters into
the area. A windy day is ahead, with a deeply mixed boundary
layer helping to bring some higher westerly gusts to 35 MPH down
to the surface. Highs today will generally be in the upper 40s
to low 50s, with the cooler temperatures across central
Wisconsin, where a scattered to broken stratocu deck is
expected to develop by afternoon. Couldn`t totally rule out a
sprinkle or two making it down to the surface, but very dry air
in the low levels will limit this potential.

Lows tonight will fall into the low to mid 30s. Winds will
remain breezy enough overnight to limit frost formation, but
freeze headlines may be needed later today if temperatures are
still expected to bottom out around 30.

Slightly cooler and less windy conditions are expected on
Saturday, with highs in the upper 40s.

.LONG TERM...
Issued 257 AM CDT Fri Apr 19 2024

Saturday night through Thursday:

Frost may be more of a concern Sunday morning, with lighter
winds expected late Saturday night. Lows will again be in the
low 30s. A surface ridge and warmer air aloft moving into the
area will help boost temperatures into the mid to upper 50s on
Sunday. Winds turn southwesterly for Monday, with highs
expected to reach the low 60s.

Rain chances increase into the 50-70% range Monday night and
Tuesday as another upper level low moves through the area.
Seasonable temperatures in the mid to upper 50s are expected
behind this system for the middle and end of the workweek.

.AVIATION...
Issued 1015 AM CDT Fri Apr 19 2024

Patchy diurnal cu has begun developing across south central
Wisconsin, which will become more extensive later in the
afternoon today spreading down from the north. Gusty west winds
will strengthen and persist during the day, before tapering off
around the evening.

.MARINE...
Issued 257 AM CDT Fri Apr 19 2024

Gusty west winds winds are expected today and tomorrow, as low
pressure moves from Ontario into Quebec, and high pressure extends
from the northern High Plains across the middle portion of the
country. Winds over the open waters are expected to remain just
below gale force. For the nearshore, a Small Craft Advisory is
in effect starting mid morning today and continuing through the
afternoon. The westerly winds will become lighter on Sunday as
a surface ridge approaches from the west, and then will turn
