.Discussion...

Strong winds and critical fire weather conditions will persist into
this evening over much of the region, with winds gradually diminishing
after sunset. West winds will be even stronger on Tuesday and gusts
to 60 mph will be possible across most of the area from late morning
into the afternoon. Critical fire weather conditions are expected
Tuesday across all of the southeast plains, Fremont county, the lower
slopes of all the eastern Mountains and the San Luis Valley. Scattered
rain and snow showers will be possible over the central mountains by
Tuesday afternoon, with light snow accumulations possible.

Wednesday will be dry across the forecast area, and there will be less
wind and lower fire danger, then winds increase on Thursday, enhancing
the fire danger once again.

Friday and into Saturday, a strong weather system will move across the
region, bringing the potential for widespread rain and snow to most
locations.

Excellent afternoon smoke dispersion is expected on Tuesday, then good
to very good dispersion is forecast for Wednesday as winds decrease.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
